Overview of China's mould manufacturing industry

The mould is basic process equipment made of plastic, rubber, metal, powder, glass, fiberglass and other materials through processing equipment. It is an intermediate product in the production process and is used for the production of final products. mould processing is one of the important methods of material forming. Compared with mechanical processing, it has the advantages of fewer procedures, high material utilization, low energy consumption, easy production, and high efficiency. Therefore, it is widely used in automotive, energy, machinery, electronics, information, and aviation. The aerospace industry and the production of daily necessities are widely used.

According to statistics, 75% of rough-processed industrial product parts and 50% of precision-processed parts are moulded by moulds. 80% of parts in the household appliance industry and more than 70% of parts in the mechanical and electrical industry also need to be processed by the mould. The mould industry can often drive the development of its related industries. Therefore, the mould factory is often referred to as the benefit amplifier.

Although China's mould industry started early, it has been an affiliate of downstream production company in the early stage. The low circulation rate of mould products has limited the development of mould company. It was not until 1987 that moulds were included in the catalog of mechanical and electrical products as products. At that time, there were about 6,000 factories producing moulds in the country, with a total output value of about 3 billion yuan. After more than 20 years of development, China's mould industry has made great progress. As of 2013, the number of company reached 30,000, the annual output value reached 220 billion yuan, and the annual export was close to 5 billion US dollars.

At present, the largest market of China's mould industry is the automotive industry, electronic information industry, home appliances and office equipment, machinery and building materials industries. With the rapid development of China's national economy, the increase in people's income, and the increasing demand for automobiles, consumer electronics, and home appliances, these industries have entered a stage of rapid development in recent years and become an important part of the rapid development of China's mould industry. The reason is following figure shows the output value of China's mould industry from 2007 to 2013. It can be seen that the output value of China's mould industry has grown rapidly in recent years, from 87 billion yuan in 2007 to 210.6 billion yuan in 2013, a growth rate much higher than the world's mould industry.
